Computer Society of India is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. About IT Department
The department started with an initial intake of 60 students in UG Program and the intake is enhanced to 120 in the year 2007. In 2011, the department started a PG Program M.Tech.in CST with an intake of 36 Students.Faculty have published 259 Publications from the AY 2010-11 to till date, having collaborative lab from IBM India Pvt. Ltd and CM's Skill Excellence Centre is established in association with APSSDC, 03 patents are filed and published in the areas of Data Engineering and Software Engineering. Total Fund received through R&D Projects is Rs 42, 83,000/- from agencies like NRSC and UGC. A total amount of Rs 12,00,000/- is received from E&ICT Academy and AICTE to conduct Faculty development programs.
Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College or VRSEC was the first private institution to offer undergraduate education in engineering in Andhra Pradesh, India and First Private college to offer PG Programmes in engineering in Andhra Pradesh in the year 1998.
